Old School Podcast Round Up Part 1

Ever since I ditched cable TV I’ve been turning to podcasts for more and more of my entertainment and information.  One arena that I haven’t found covered very much is Old School and or Retro gaming.  But never fear the few that I’ve found are particularly nifty.
1. The Midnights Lair – From the Lair issue [...]

Cryptid Codex Cover and Sample Page

Made some progress on my ML74 Fortean creature book I now call the Cryptid Codex
Here is the cover:
I don’t know if it’s gonna change yet, though I do like the image. The creature on the cover is a Cyclopean Ass in case anyone is curious.
And here is a random sample from the newly renamed Cryptid [...]

Beast Book Preview

As promised, I’m working on a compilation of Fortean creatures initially statted up for Microlite74.
Here is a screenshot sample of what the creature entries will look like:
Yes the stat block was inspired by D&D 4e, but by looks only.  I still haven’t played 4e, and don’t plan to.  But I took to heart something that [...]

I started here and picked out a few interesting authors
Francis Stevens
Edward Lucas White
George Griffith
Also possibly Arthur Conan Doyles “The Horror of the Heights“

Mizu-Men

I figure I might as well get this out while I’m hot.
MIZU-MEN
Hit Dice: 1d6
Armor Class: 7 [12]
Attacks: 2 claws (1d4), 1 bite (1d3) or 1 weapon (1d6)

Legend has it that Mizu-Men were the aboriginal folk of the marshy land on the west coast of Elgarth [...]

Fred Hicks and the Old School

Recently Dan Proctor over at  Uhluht’c Awakens made a post about Unifying the Old School Renaissence, and Jim over at LotFP made a comment about how moralist munchkins are already trying to lay down the ground rules for what is and isn’t acceptable…cough…cough…Carcosa.
Now let me just say that, I for one do not care how [...]
